About the Show

Real talk from
real coaches

Life on the Road is a basketball podcast featuring coaches at every level — high school, college, and professional. Each episode dives into coaching philosophy, recruiting, player development, leadership, and what it takes to build a winning program.

Hear real stories from the road, the grind, and the game. No fluff, no scripts — just raw, unfiltered journeys from coaches who've paid their dues and kept showing up.

Season 2 is bigger and deeper — new guests, new segments including "Hoops Took Me Here, Hoops Took Me There," "Remember the Time," and "That Wasn't in My Job Description." We're also bringing back coaches from Season 1 for new conversations, new questions, and a chance to see where the road has taken them.

The confidence doesn't come first — the showing up does. Every single day you stay in the fight, you get better. And eventually you look up and realize you've become exactly the coach you always believed you could be.

Alphonza Kee
Co-Host & Co-Creator

Coach Alphonza Kee has spent decades in the gym developing players and building winning cultures at multiple levels of the game. His background in player development gives him a unique lens on every conversation — he knows what it takes to get to the next level because he's helped players get there. Whether he's breaking down X's and O's, recruiting philosophy, or the mental side of coaching, Coach Kee brings the kind of insight that only comes from years of doing the work. A student of the game who has poured into players, programs, and coaching staffs throughout his career, his ability to connect with guests, ask the right questions, and draw out the real story behind the wins is what makes every episode of Life on the Road a must-listen for anyone serious about this profession.

Scott Bollwage
Co-Host & Co-Creator

Coach Scott Bollwage has been in the coaching profession for over 30 years, with stops that have taken him from Greensboro College to the AAU circuit and everywhere in between. He knows the grind of building a program from scratch, the sacrifice that comes with life on the recruiting trail, and the passion it takes to stay in this profession for the long haul. A co-founder of the AAU Select Tour and the driving force behind multiple basketball development initiatives across North Carolina and beyond, Coach Bollwage brings authenticity and hard-earned perspective to every conversation. When he asks a question on this podcast, it's because he's lived the answer — and that experience is exactly what makes these conversations resonate with coaches, players, and everyone who loves the game.
